This garment was hand woven using a technique titled, “tapestry,”
along with rows of hand knots (rya knots). All the weaving thread was
hand-dyed along with silk fabric and then cut into narrow strips and hand tied
into rows of selected colors.
Each four inches of weaving took three to five hours with
the yarns used for the tapestry (inside of garment) woven into place by
hand. The cord embellishment was crocheted and appliqued into place,
along with the dyed "buttons" and random beading.
